Charlie,
the
Dulquer
Salmaan
starrer
which
bagged
several
awards
in
Kerala
State
Film
Awards,
is
reportedly
not
included
in
the
contestants
list
of
63rd
National
Film
Awards.
Martin
Prakkat,
the
director
confirmed
that
Charlie
was
not
included
in
the
list,
as
the
team
was
unaware
of
the
submission
date.
Even
though
the
team
approached
the
authorities
again;
but
couldn't
include
Charlie.
The
Charlie
team
is
quite
disappointed
about
missing
the
National
Awards
race.
The
team
members
thought
that
the
movie
should
be
submitted
for
National
Film
Awards,
after
the
State
Award
results;
but
it
was
wrong.
The
movie
has
bagged
8
awards
in
the
Kerala
State
Film
Awards,
including
the
trophies
for
Best
Actor,
Best
Actress,
Best
Director,
Best
Screenplay,
Best
Art
direction,
Best
Cinematographer,
etc.
Interestingly
the
remake
rights
of
Charlie
has
been
bagged
by
the
promising
production
houses
of
Tamil,
Marathi,
and
Bengali
film
industries.
More
details
regarding
the
remakes
will
be
revealed
soon.
Reportedly,
the
makers
of
Charlie
are
also
in
talks
with
some
leading
Bollywood
production
banners,
upon
the
Hindi
remake
rights.
The
team
is
expected
to
announce
more
updates
soon.
Interestingly,
33
Malayalam
movies
have
been
included
in
the
final
list
of
63rd
National
Film
Awards.
It
is
the
largest
number
of
Malayalam
movies
included
in
the
final
list,
in
the
history
of
National
Awards.
