Dr. Biju's Kaadu Pookkunna Neram To Be India's Official Oscar Entry?

Kaadu Pookkunna Neram, the Dr. Biju movie, has entered the final selection list of India's official entry to Oscar. Interestingly, it is the only 2016-released Malayalam movie which entered the final list.

Reportedly, a committee headed by the popular film-maker Ketan Mehta will select the official entry of India to Oscar, among from the 32 films which made entered the final selection list.

The movie, which stars Indrajith and Rima Kallingal in the lead roles, has recently made headlines by receiving a chance to be screened at the Montreal International Film Festival, Canada.

Earlier, Dr. Biju's Aakashathinte Niram had entered the final selection list of India's official Oscar entry. But, the movie which had Prithviraj, Indrajith, and Amala Paul in the lead roles, was eliminated in the final round.

Mohanlal starring Rajeev Anchal movie Guru and Salim Kumar movie Adaminte Makan Abu, directed by Salim Ahamed, are some of the other popular Malayalam films which have entered the list in the past.

Kaadu Pookkunna Neram will have Prakash Bare, Indrans, Irshad, Krishnan Balakrishnan, Gopan, Jayachandran, etc, in the supporting roles. The movie is produced by the banner Weekend Blockbusters.
