I Was Scared To Approach Mammootty For Puthiya Niyamam: AK Sajan

AK Sajan, the writer-director says that he was scared to approach Mammootty for Puthiya Niyamam. Sajan revealed about his secret fear in the recent interview given to a popular daily.

According to AK Sajan, it is the leading lady Nayantara who has more screen space in the movie. But surprisingly, Mammootty comforted him, stating that he doesn't care about his screen space.

Mammootty funnily stated that he is not adamant about having more screen space in all his movies. The actor assured Sajan that he is doing the movie, as the script is extremely interesting.

Unlike the usual Mammootty films, the character played by Nayantara is stronger than the megastar's character Adv. Louis Pothan. It is said to be the strongest role in Nayantara's career.

Interestingly, AK Sajan initially had writer-actor Renji Panicker in his mind, when he started scripting the movie. Sajan even narrated the story to Renji, and the scenarist was impressed.

But Renji felt that the character demands a powerful actor like Mammootty, and advised Sajan to plan the project on a larger scale, with the megastar as Louis Pothen.

Later, Sajan narrated the script to Mammootty, who immediately agreed to do the project. The team roped in Nayantara as the female lead, for the role which was originally role which was originally offered to Muthumani.
