Mammootty Connection In Nadodikkattu

The film was made under a budget of 17 Lakh rupees. It was definitely a moderate budget movie back then. But, the film enjoyed a phenomenal success reaping huge profits.
Slammed By High Profile Critics
It was said that the movie was initially slammed by certain so called high-profile critics. But, the common man enjoyed and whole-heartedly accepted the film, making it one of the cult-classics of Malayalam cinema.
The story idea of the film has been credited to Siddique-Lal. Reports suggest that, the duo of Siddique-Lal had narrated a story to Sathyan Anthikkad and Sreenivan on the sets of a Fazil film. Later, Sreenivasan and Sathyan Anthikkad decided to take just the idea of a character out of the story narrated to them, and formed a new story.
Maximum Number Of Sequels
Nadodikkattu is one of the very few movies which have had continuous sequels in a short period of time. Pattanapravesham(1988) and Akkare Akkare Akkare(1990) are the sequels to the film.
It has been 29 years since the release of Nadodikkattu. And still, the film remains afresh in our minds. The humour, the context, the content, all stand relevant even now.
