Kammatipaadam, the recently released Dulquer Salmaan starring action thriller has been receiving rave reviews from all over. The Rajeev Ravi-directed movie was released in 118 screens in Kerala alone.
According to the trade analysts, Kammatipaadam has made a gross collection of Rs. 2.4 Crores, within the first two days of release, from Kerala alone. The movie made an average opening with an initial collection of 1.25 Crores.
It is not an impressive box office opening for a Dulquer Salmaan movie, while considering the actor's last two releases, Kali and Charlie. It is evident that Kammatipaadam hasn't been able to impress the masses, depite being a critical success.
Kali, the last release of Dulquer had broken the initial collection record made by Mohanlal starrer Loham. Even though the initial collection was not bad, the second day collections of Kammatipaadam drastically decreased.
The extreme slow pace and excessive duration of the movie have prevented it from being audience-friendly. It is quite evident that Kammatipaadam will also end up as a below-average grosser, like the earlier Rajeev Ravi films.
The constant rainfall has also severely affected the performance of Kammatipaadam in the Kerala releasing centres. The team is expected to reveal the outside Kerala box office collections soon.
