Mohanlal
Remember the movie Manu Uncle in which Mohanlal appeared as himself? Yes, the film had the superstar as himself and he had made a cameo appearance in the film. Apart from Manu Uncle, he has also featured as himself, in films like Kadal Kadaonnoru Maathukutty, Rasam etc.

Mammootty
Well, Mammootty has appeared as himself in good number of movies. But, the prominent one among them has to be No. 20 Madras Mail, in which he appeared in a full-length role. In the film, Mammootty appeared as superstar Mammootty, who helps a group of youngsters entangled in a problem.
Dileep
Dileep has appeared as himself once, that too, in the film Kadal Kadonnoru Maathukutti, directed by Ranjith. He appeared in two scenes of this film, which had Mammootty in the lead role.
Prithviraj
Makeup Man, which released in the year 2011, was a star-studded film. The film, directed by Shafi, had Jayaram in the lead role. The movie, which narrated a love story in the backdrop of tinsel town, had Prithviraj appearing as himself, in an extended cameo and the actor played a crucial role in the film.
Suresh Gopi
Suresh Gopi did impress one and all when he appeared as himself in one of the song sequences of the movie Thillana Thillana. He made his presence felt in the movie by acting in couple of scenes, as well. Later, in the year 2015, he appeared as himself in Salim Kumar's directorial venture Compartment.
Kunchacko Boban
Kunchacko Boban got the chance to appear as himself, along with Suresh Gopi, in the film Thillana Thillana. Later, he also appeared in a song sequence in the film Makeup Man.
In fact, it is actor Mammootty who holds a record in this. The actor has appeared as himself in more than 5 movies, with most of them being cameo appearances.
Even the younger generation of actors have whole-heartedly accepted the offers that came there way, to appear as themselves. Most prominent one among them is Asif Ali, who really impressed one and all with his appearance in the film Usthad Hotel. He just had a single dialogue to say, but he simply stole the show.
Well, we hope that we can see more of such appearances in the future, as well. If reports are to be believed, the upcoming Malayalam movie Poomaram, which has Kalidas Jayaram in the lead role, would also feature Kunchacko Boban, as himself.
