White,
the
Mammootty
starring
romantic
drama,
will
hit
the
theatres
this
Vishu
season.
The
movie,
which
stars
Bollywood
actress
Huma
Qureshi
in
the
female
lead,
is
directed
by
Uday
Ananthan.
Interestingly,
Huma
Qureshi
was
not
the
first
choice
for
the
role,
Roshni
Menon.
According
to
director
Uday
Ananthan,
the
team
was
initially
planning
to
rope
in
Vidya
Balan
for
the
role.
But
it
was
Mammootty,
who
suggested
the
director
to
approach
Huma
for
the
role.
The
megastar
felt
that
it
is
not
Vidya,
but
Huma
suits
for
the
role,
who
is
an
modern,
independent
woman.
The
team
approached
Huma
Qureshi
with
the
script.
The
actress,
who
is
a
great
fan
of
Malayalam
films,
was
highly
impressed
with
the
characterization
and
immediately
signed
the
project.
Uday
states
that
Mammootty's
finding
was
perfect,
as
Huma
Qureshi
has
brilliantly
portrayed
the
role.
He
states
that
talented
actress
gave
a
tough
competition
to
the
megastar
with
her
flawless
acting
skills.
Sadly,
Vidya
Balan
thus
lost
the
chance
to
share
the
screen
with
Mammootty.
But
the
actress,
who
made
her
M'town
debut
with
Urumi,
is
all
set
to
portray
legendary
writer
Kamala
Surayya,
in
her
biopic.
