Mammootty's much awaited upcoming project, which is based on the life of the epic character Karnan will start rolling by mid-2017. Sources suggest that it will be the most expensive project in Mammootty's career.
If the reports are to be true, the movie which is directed by actor-director Madhupal will be made with a budget of 70 Crores. However, the team has not confirmed the reports officially yet.
Recently, it was rumoured that Mammootty has backed out of the project and the team decided to drop it. But, Madhupal and writer P Sreekumar denied the reports and confirmed that the project is very much on cards.
The director-writer duo confirmed that the team has already roped in the technicians, including the art director for the project. The team also went on to clarify that 'Karnan' is not the title of the movie.
Earlier it was reported that the movie has been titled as Dharma Kshethram, but it was later revealed to be false. The team is yet to finalise the title and the rest of the star cast of the much-awaited movie.
According to director Madhupal, the movie will deal with the last days of Karnan and his inner conflicts. It will not have any similarities with the highly anticipated Prithviraj-RS Vimal movie, Karnan.
