Well, Mammootty has many number of blockbusters to his credit but not all of them have been remade to other languages. In comparison, the number of Mammootty movies that were remade to other languages is lesser than the number of Mohanlal movies, which have had remakes.

Nonetheless, Mammootty's movies have also found wide acceptance in remake markets and the below listed movies are a testimony to that. Here, we list some of the Mammootty movies that were remade to other Indian languages. Take a look..

Hitler, which went on to become an industry hit, during the time of its release, was later remade in to multiple languages. The film did get a Hindi remake in the form of Suniel Shetty starrer Krodh. Similarly, the Tamil film Military, which had Sathyaraj in the lead role was the remake of Hitler.

Not many know that Mammootty's superhit film Mazhayethum Munpe has had a Hindi remake. The 2005 film Zamir, which had Ajay Devgn, Mahima Chaudhary and Amisha Patel in the lead roles was the remake of the film directed by Kamal.

Mahayaanam was one of the biggest hits in the career of Mammootty. The film directed by Joshiy had Mammootty in a powerful role. The film was later remade in to Tamil as Paarai, with Sarathkumar in the lead role.

In fact, many of the Mammootty movies from the 1980's did sell like hot cakes in remake circuits. Apart from the above listed films, movies like New Delhi, Poovinu Puthiya Poonthennal, Kouravar, Pappayude Swantham Appoos etc., were also remade to other languages.

It also has to be noted that Mammootty is an actor, who is hugely popular in South India and many of his blockbuster movies have had a grand run in the other states as well, which in turn reduces the prospects of remakes.

Most recently, Mammootty's superhit film Bhaskar The Rascal was considered for a remake. Earlier, there were reports that Rajinikanth might reprise the role done by Mammootty in the original, but all those were dismissed as rumours.
