Mammootty's Thoppil Joppan: Release Postponed

Thoppil Joppan, the upcoming Mammootty starring comical entertainer, will not hit the theatres for Onam. In the recent interview given to Radio Mango, Mammootty confirmed that the movie will release only after Onam.

Earlier, Thoppil Joppan was slated to hit the theatres as an Onam release. But, the team decided to postpone the release, as two Mammootty has two back-to-back releases in July.

Kasaba, the police story directed by Nithin Renji Panicker, released on July 7th. White, another highly anticipated release of the megastar directed by Uday Ananthan, has been slated to release on 29th of July.

Thoppil Joppan team feels that the consecutive releases of Mammootty films may lessen the demand for the movie. Instead, the Johny Antony directed project may hit the theatres for Navarathri season.

The project, which will have Mammootty in the title role Joppan, stars Mamtha Mohandas and Andrea Jeremiah in the female leads. Nishad Koya, the Ordinary writer, pens the script for the movie.

Harisree Ashokan, Salim Kumar, Renji Panicker, Suresh Krishna, Alancier, Saju Navodaya, Baby Akshara, etc play the supporting roles. Thoppil Joppan is produced Noushad and Jeevan, under the banner Grande Productions.
