It seems like Mollywood actors are all set to conquer other languages. Superstar Mohanlal is a part of the Telugu film named "Janatha Garage", which also stars Jr. NTR in the lead role. He has also completed another project in Telugu named "Manamantha".

So, here is a list of other Mollywood actors who have tried their luck in the Telugu film industry.

Mammootty

Mammootty

Mammootty is one such actor who has acted in films of all the four South Indian languages. He first appeared in a Telugu cinema through the film named "Swatikiranam" (1992), which had him in the lead role. The film went on to win various awards including the National film awards.

Prithviraj

Prithviraj

Prithviraj made his debut in Tollywood through a film named "Police Police" directed by Manmohan. Prithviraj appeared in a negative role in this film, which had Srikanth playing the lead role.

Rahman

Rahman

With more than 15 plus projects in Telugu, Rahman has been a prominent face in Telugu cinema. He made his debut in the Telugu industry through the film "Manmadha samrajyam" (1984). Of late, he has turned to supporting roles.

Biju Menon

Biju Menon

Biju Menon has two telugu films to his credit, namely "Ranam" and "Khatarnak", both of which were released in 2006. Ranam had him playing the main villain role.

Lal

Lal

Actor Lal too has tried his luck in Tollywood. He had played a main role in Pawan Kalyan's film "Annavaram" released in 2006. He played the role of a smuggler in another Telugu film named "Khatarnak" (2006).

Kalabhavan Mani

Kalabhavan Mani debuted in Tollywood through the Telugu remake of Gemini. He reprised the same role that he had done in the Tamil version. The film had Venkatesh in the lead role.

Murali

Murali

Actor Murali too had appeared in the Telugu version of the movie Gemini, which had him reprising his same role from the original version.

Rajan P. Dev

Rajan P. Dev

Rajan P. Dev is a popular face in the Telugu industry too. He has played important roles in Superhit films like Okkadu (2003) and Bunny (2005).

Ajmal Ameer

Ajmal Ameer

Ajmal Ameer who is a prominent face in the Malayalam cinema industry tasted much better luck and success in the Telugu industry. He debuted in Telugu through the film "Rachcha", which had him in a supporting role alongside Ramcharan.

Mohanlal had made a brief appearance in a Telugu film named "Gandeevam" directed by Priyadarshan, which released in the year 1994. He had appeared in a song sequence of that film too.

Interestingly, 'Janatha Garage' would also feature Unni Mukundan in a prominent role. If reports are to be believed, this role was initially offered to Fahadh Fazil, another young actor of Mollywood.

Malayalam actors have always viewed the Telugu film industry with a distance. Even though many Mollywood actors have made a mark in the Tamil industry, it has been difficult for them to create a foothold in the Telugu film industry.

Interestingly, Telugu-dubbed versions of Malayalam films have enjoyed great success in Tollywood. Actors like Suresh Gopi became much more popular among the Telugu crowd through the Telugu-dubbed versions of his action films, which went on to become a big success.
