The ban on Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes have come to effect from November 9, midnight onwards. This new step by the Government came as a big surprise to the citizens of the nation.

Popular actress Manju Warrier did sent out a long post regarding the same. She stated that the message given by the Prime Minister is something which we as Indians should be proud of. She also urged all the people to stay united for this mission.

In an interview given to Manorama Online, the actor urged all the people to support the decision considering the best interest of the nation. He also pinpointed that Kerala is a state where Harthal comes in so often and if people can tolerate that, then they can bear the difficulties caused by the new change for a day, as well.

The major stars of Malayalam films, like Mammootty, Mohanlal, Dileep, Prithviraj, Dulquer Salmaan, Nivin Pauly etc., have not come out with their opinions yet.
However, Malayalam film industry has been slightly affected by the note ban. There has been a slight dip in the collections of Malayalam films like Pulimurugan. Importantly, the release of two Malayalam films, Kattappanayile Hrithik Roshan and Ore Mukham, have been postponed.
