Mohanlal starrer Pulimurugan is all set to hit the theatres tomorrow(October 7, 2016). The film has been in the much awaited list for quite some time and finally the film is all set to open big.
Reportedly, the film would be released in 325 screens across
India. In Kerala alone, the film has managed to get 165 screens,
which indeed is a huge number.
Well, these numbers show the star power of Mohanlal and his

Loham, which marked the reunion of Mohanlal and
Ranjith, was high on expectations. The film, which was one of the
most awaited ones of the year 2015, got released in 141 theatres in
Kerala and 250 screens all over India. The film did garner huge
Lailaa O Lailaa (2015)
Lailaa O Lailaa, directed by Joshiy, did generate a
huge pre-release hype and was one of the most expected films of
Mohanlal. The film released in above 100 theatres in Kerala alone
and had garnered a good opening. But, the film, failed to meet the
expectations of the viewers.
Peruchazhi, which was in the lines of a mass
entertainer, was Mohanlal's Onam release of the year 2014. The
trailer and the posters of the film did generate the much required
hype and the film was released in across 500 theatres
The film was made under a huge budget and was in the making for
long. The film, which hit the theatres on January 26, 2012 was
released in above 200 theatres across India. The film did set a
record in opening day collections, back then by fetching, 2.06
Crores on the opening day.
Christian Brothers (2011)
Christian Brothers, directed by Joshiy, had a big star
cast, which comprised of Mohanlal, Suresh Gopi and Dileep. The film
was one of the biggest releases of 2011 and was released in 150
theatres in Kerala alone.
The Mohanlal movie is expected to break the existing initial
collection records. Responses have been good for advance
Pulimurugan was earlier expected to be released in
close to 200 theatres, but had to reduce the number of theatres
since Mohanlal starrer Oppam is still continuing to do
good business at the theatres.
Oppam, which released during the Onam season, is still strong at the box office. The film has crossed the 30-Crore mark and is on the way to become one of the biggest hits in the history of Malayalam cinema.
