Are Directors Reluctant To Cast Namitha Pramod In Performance-oriented Roles?

Namitha Pramod, the young actress is known as the masala queen of Malayalam cinema. It is a fact that Namitha's filmography mostly includes masala entertainers, and she has a few good films into her credit.

Even though the actress has always admitted that she is not much selective the films; the grapevine has something else to say. According to the sources, popular directors are reluctant to approach Namitha with performance-oriented roles.

Reportedly, her continuous appearance as a cliched heroine in a series of heavily criticized mass entertainers has resulted in the industry's distrust over her acting skills. Popular directors are not confident enough to cast Namitha in strong roles due to the same.

Most of the Namitha Pramod starrers, including the recently released Adi Kapyare Koottamani, Amar Akbar Anthony, and Chandrettan Evideya, were commercially successful films. But Namitha failed to impress with her acting skills in the minimal roles.

Commercial successes are essential to gain a star status in the film industry. But, to gain the trust of the promising film-makers and audiences, an actor has to prove his/her talent. We hope Namitha will choose her future projects wisely and prove her mettle soon.
