By Akhila Menon

Oppam, the recently released Mohanlal movie, directed by Priyadarshan has already earned the blockbuster status. When it completed the second week of release, Oppam emerged as the biggest hit of the season.

Within the first 11 days of its release, the Mohanlal starring suspense thriller has managed to make a gross collection of about 17 Crores, from the Kerala box office alone.

The movie had collected 12.61 Crores just from its first-week theatre run in Kerala, thus breaking the record of Nivin Pauly starrer Premam as the fastest Malayalam movie to enter the 10 Crore club.

Oppam crossed 10 Crore mark within the first 6 days of release, by collecting Rs. 10.7 Crores. Premam, on the other hand, entered the 10 Crore club within the first 7 days of its release.

The movie had an average opening at the box office, despite the huge initial hype. It made an initial collection of Rs. 1.56 Crores, with a net collection of 1.26 Crores and share of 74 Lakhs.

As per the latest updates, Priyadarshan is all set to remake the movie into Tamil and Hindi. If things fall in place, Kamal Haasan and Akshay Kumar will star in the Tamil and Bollywood versions, respectively.
