Godfather, released in the year 1991, had actors like N N Pillai, Mukesh, Thilakan, Innocent, Philomina, Kanaka, Siddique, Jagadish, Bheeman Rahu etc., in important roles.
The film, is one of the biggest hits in the history of Malayalam cinema and it did set some unbeatable records. Having said that, it should be noted that the story and the premises of the movie are relevant even now and it wouldn't be a bad idea to remake this film.

KPAC Lalitha As Aanaparayil Achaama
Veteran actress Philomina had put in her best to portray the character of Achaama, who is crooked. There isn't any other actress better than KPAC Lalitha who could do this role convincingly now
Nivin Pauly As Ramabhadran
Without a second thought, Nivin pauly could be cast as Ramabhadran, the character done by Mukesh in the original. Nivin Pauly, with his lover boy image and charming nature, would excel as Ramabhadran
Namitha Pramod As Malu
From the present lot of actresses, Namitha Pramod could play the role of the leading lady in the film, with perfection. She would fit in perfectly as Malu, the love interest of Ramabhadran
Aju Varghese As Maayankutti
Well, there wouldn't be a better choice for this role done by Jagadish in the original. Aju Varghese would simply excel as Maayankutti, the friend of Ramabhadran who alsways gives some ideas to Ramabhadran. Importantly, the combo of Nivin and Aju would really work wonders.
Indrajith As Veerabhadran
Veerabhadran is a person who thinks and acts in a mature and practical way. Indrajith can do this role with ease and would be convincing as this character done by Siddique in the original.
Siddique As Balaraman
Veteran actor Thilakan had enacted the character of Balaraman, who is the elder son of Anjooran. It would be a tough task to replace an actor like him, but from the present lot of actors, Siddique would be the best person to do this powerful role.
Suraj Venjaramoodu As Swaminathan
Innocent had portrayed the role of Swaminathan, one of the brothers of Ramabhadran. In the present, we feel that Suraj Venjaramoodu would be the best choice to enact this role with perfection.
Shine Tom Chacko As Premachandran
Godfather gave a major breakthrough for Bheeman Ragh, who portrayed the role of Premachandran, the elder brother of Ramabhadran. we feel that Shine Tom Chacko would be the one who could do this role in the new version.
It has been 25 years since the release of the movie. The makers of Godfather recently did celebrate the 25 years of Godfather in the sets of Siddique's upcoming venture Fukri, which has Jayasurya in the lead role.
