Puthiya Niyamam, the upcoming Mammootty-Nayantara starrer, has finally got a release date. According to the sources close to the movie, the AK Sajan directorial is slated to release on 29th of January.
The movie, which is said to be a social drama, was initially slated to release on December 24th, Thursday. According to the sources, the team decided to postpone the release, as the post-production works took a long time to complete.
Puthiya Niyamam revolves around the inter-caste couple, Adv Louis Pothan and Vasuki Iyer. Louis, who belongs to an orthodox Christian background, is a strong believer of communist ideologies. He is also a film critic and social activist.
Initially, Renji Panicker and Muthumani were considered to play Adv Louis Pothan and Vasuki Iyer. But the director felt that the characters demand established actors like Mammootty and Nayantara; thus roped in the duo to play the roles.
Expectations are riding high on the project, as it marks the reunion of Mammootty, with AK Sajan. He is the creator of Mammootty's legendary character, Narasimha Mannadiar in the blockbuster movie Dhruvam, directed by veteran film-maker Joshiy.
