This Is Mani Ratnam's Favourite Malayalam Movie!

As we all know, veteran film-maker Mani Ratnam is a strong follower of Malayalam films. Interestingly one of the Mani Ratnam's all-time favourite films is Chithram, the Mohanlal starring Priyadarshan movie.

Reportedly, the senior director has watched Chithram umpteen times, and still watches it whenever he gets free time. Mani Ratnam has always wondered that how such a simple film became a blockbuster.

He is extremely impressed with the simple storyline of the movie, and the heart-touching performance by the lead actor Mohanlal. Mani Ratnam is still searching for the secret behind the success of Chithram.

Mani Ratnam joined hands with Mohanlal after 9 years of the movie's release, for the classic movie Iruvar. It is still considered as one of the finest films in the careers of both the director and the actor.

The film-maker later decided that he will not collaborate with Mohanlal again, as he can't work with an actor whom he is a huge fan of. But, Mani Ratnam makes sure that he follows the actor's work.

He later associated with several Malayalam actors, including the young stars Prithviraj and Dulquer Salmaan. We hope that Mani Ratnam will make a comeback to Mollywood, someday.
