Thoppil Joppan, the Mammootty starrer has been expected to hit the theatres along with Mohanlal's Puli Murugan, on October 7. But as per the latest reports, the release of Thoppil Joppan may get postponed.
Shockingly, the release of the movie has been temporarily stayed by the Ernakulam district court, after a petition was filed against its producer by a person named Shibu Thekkumpuram, from Kothamangalam.
According to the petitioner Shibu, the producer had sold the copyright of the movie to him, for 25 Lakhs. But later, the producer sold the copyright to another company without his knowledge.
The court decided to stay the release of Thoppil Joppan temporarily, after considering the petition. However, producer Noushad Alathur has brushed off the allegations, stating that he doesn't know Shibu personally.
He points out that the complaint is filed against a person called Abdul Nazar. But, Noushad is the actual producer of the movie, not Nazar. So, the team strongly believes that the court will dismiss the plea.
Johny Antony, the director of the movie also ensure that Thoppil Joppan will hit the theatres on October 7 itself. But, some other sources close to the movie suggest that the team may postpone the release.
If it happens, the Malayali audiences will miss the chance to witness a Mammootty-Mohanlal box office war, once again. We hope that Thoppil Joppan will hit the screen with Puli Murgan, as per the expectations.
