REVEALED: Varalaxmi Sarathkumar's Role In Mammootty's Kasaba

Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, the popular Tamil actress is making her Malayalam movie debut with the upcoming Mammootty movie, Kasaba. Varalaxmi is the daughter of popular South Indian actor turned politician, Sarathkumar.

The actress is playing Kamala, an important character in the movie. Some unexpected incidents create a link between Kamala and C.I. Rajan Zachariah, played by Mammootty and she brings in an important turning point in his investigation.

Kasaba is set in the backdrop of a village in Kerala-Karnataka border. The movie revolves around the struggles of Rajan Zachariah, who gets appointed as the Circle Inspector of the Kasaba police station situated in the town.

The movie marks the directorial debut of Nithin Renji Panicker, the son of the popular scenarist turned actor Renji Panicker. He was the direction assistant of the popular film-maker cum his father's best buddy, Shaji Kailas.

Sambath, the Tamil actor plays the antagonist, Parameshwaran Nambiar. Neha Saxena, Siddique, Jagadish, Kalabhavan Navas, etc. essay the supporting roles in the movie, which is said to be a very different police story.

Sameer Haq handles the cinematography. Rahul Raj composes the music. Mansoor Muthutty handles the editing. Kasaba, which is produced by Alice George under the banner Goodwill Entertainments, will be released on July 7.
