The fans of Mammootty and Mohanlal, may be always at loggerheads fighting on deciding who the numero uno is. But, both the actors have shared extremely good friendship, right from their initial days of their film career.
Many of you might not be aware of the fact that, both Mammootty and Mohanlal had jointly owned a production house named Casino films, in the past. Here we list some of the films that Mammootty and Mohanlal produced for each other.
The film was produced by Raju Mathew under the banner of Casino films jointly owned by Mammootty, Mohanlal, I V Sasi and Seema. Karimbinpoovinakkare, directed by I V Sasi had Mammootty, Mohanlal, Bharath Gopi, Seema etc in the lead roles. The film had its script written by P Padmarajan.
This film directed by I V Sasi had Mammootty, Mohanlal and Rahman in the lead roles. Adiyozhukkukal produced by Casino films fetched Mammootty his first Kerala State Award for the Best Actor.
Gandhinagar Second Street (1986)
Sathyan Anthikkad directed this film which was jointly produced by Mammootty and Mohanlal under the banner of Casino films. The film had Mohanlal in the lead role. Mammootty also played a guest role in this film.
Once again Sathyan Anthikkadu was chosen to direct a film under the banner of Casino films. This film didn't have Mammootty in it but Mohanlal played the lead role in this film. Nadodikkaattu is one of the biggest hits of Casino films.
When it came to Harikrishnans, things became a bit different. Mohanlal's own production company Pranavam Arts International produced this film which had both Mammootty and Mohanlal in the lead roles. Fazil called the shots for the film.
The production house was named as Casino films and the banner had produced four of the films mentioned in the above list.
In fact, the production house was jointly owned by Century Kochumon, I V Sasi, Seema, Mammootty and Mohanlal.
Most of the films given in the above list were hits and those films also received appreciation for the quality content that the films had.
Later on, Mohanlal went on to own a production house of his own and named it as Pranavam Arts International. The banner produced some evergreen classics and most of the films did have Mohanlal in the lead role.
Mammootty also later ventured in to production and distribution and he named his production company as Playhouse. Playhouse has been active in distribution of films and the banner has produced the film Jawan Of Vellimala, which had Mammootty in the lead role.
