Till
a
few
days
back,
there
was
no
stopping
Pulimurugan
as
the
movie
was
racing
ahead
at
the
box
office,
with
never
seen
before
kind
of
a
rush
in
the
theatres
playing
the
movie.
But,
the
film
did
face
a
backlash
after
the
government
announced
the
demonetisation
of
Rs
500
&
Rs
1000
notes.
There
has
been
a
visible
downfall
in
the
box
office
collections
and
the
new
move
from
the
government
has
seemingly
affected
Pulimurugan's
crusie
to
the
150-Crore
mark.
While
speaking
to
popular
online
portal
Southlive,
Liberty
Basheer
and
B
Unikrishnan,
two
prominent
film
personalities
spoke
abouth
the
film's
chances
to
cross
the
150-Crore
mark.
Liberty
Basheer
stated
that
there
has
been
a
downfall
in
the
collections
of
Pulimurugan.
But,
the
rush
did
seemingly
increase
after
ATM's
started
functioning.
According
to
him,
apart
from
demonetisation,
what
has
affected
the
movie
the
most
is
piracy.
He
also
satetd
that
the
chances
for
Pulimurugan
to
cross
150-Crore
mark
are
comparitively
lesser
now.
On
the
other
hand,
renowned
director
B
Unnikrishnan
admitted
that
there
has
been
a
fall
in
the
collections.
But,
he
also
hoped
that
the
movie
would
pick-up
once
the
issues
surrounding
demonetisation
are
settled
up.
More
importantly,
two
more
films
are
slated
for
release
this
week
in
the
form
of
Ore
Mukham
and
Kattappanayile
Hrithik
Roshan.
These
movies
are
also
expected
to
give
stiff
competition
to
Pulimurugan.
Meanwhile,
it
also
has
to
be
noted
that
the
film
is
continuing
its
amazing
run
in
other
countries,
as
well.
Let
us
wait
and
see
whether
the
movie
would
make
it
to
the
150-Crore
mark
or
not.
