Malayalam actor Dileep was arrested on Monday (July 10, 2017), for his alleged involvement in the attack on a Malayalam actress, which had shocked the industry, as a whole.
Not just the industry, the whole of Kerala came to a standstill, after hearing about the latest developments. At present, Dileep is in the police custody and the bail plea of the actor, is expected to be heard by the court in the coming days.
Since the arrest of Dileep, he has been the hot topic for discussion in all sections of media. In a recent discussion programme organised by Asianet News, popular film-maker RS Vimal, who shot to fame with his work Ennu Ninte Moideen, had a few words to talk about Dileep's connection with his debut movie.
When RS Vimal Met Kavya Madhavan In 2009
According to the film-maker, in the year 2009, he had met popular actress Kavya Madhavan, with the concept of Ennu Ninte Moideen. The popular actress, who watched the documentary 'Jalam Kondu Murivettaval' (based on Moideen-Kanchanamala story), instantly liked the concept, asked the film-maker a copy of the documentary to show it to Dileep.
Dileep Too Agreed To Do The Film
Later, Dileep also called the film-maker to give his consent for the project. According to RS Vimal, they had further conversations occasionally and Dileep even invited him for the ‘pooja' of his production venture Malarvadi Arts Club.
When Dileep Decided To Opt Out Of The Project
RS Vimal opened up that later, he came to know through a production manager that Dileep isn't interested to do the film, as Dileep's previous venture with another debut film-maker turned out to be a flop at the box office.
When Kavya Madhavan came to know about this, she was furious at RS Vimal for wasting such a great opportunity. According to the film-maker, Dileep lied to Kavya Madhavan by saying that he will do the movie and at the same time conveyed to Vimal that he won't be doing it.
The Rest Is History...
Later, Ennu Ninte Moideen went to the hands of Prithviraj and Parvathy. The film, which hit the theatres in the year 2015, emerged as one of the top grossers of that year, collecting above 50 Crores at the box office.
