Honey
Bee
2,
the
sequel
of
the
2013-released
comical
thriller
Honey
Bee,
hit
the
theatres
on
March
23.
Unlike
its
highly
popular
prequel,
the
Asif
Ali-Bhavana
starrer
directed
by
Jean
Paul
Lal
failed
to
impress
the
audiences.
According
to
latest
reports
from
the
trade
experts,
Honey
Bee
2,
which
recently
completed
its
lifetime
run
at
the
theatres,
and
has
made
a
final
gross
collection
of
just
3.9
Crores
from
the
Kerala
box
office.
It
is
undoubtedly
a
highly
disappointing
collection,
as
the
movie
was
one
of
the
most
awaited
sequels
of
Mollywood
in
the
recent
past.
However,
thus
Honey
Bee
has
ended
up
as
a
disaster
at
the
box
office.
Honey
Bee
2,
which
was
released
amid
huge
expectations,
totally
disappointed
the
audiences
who
were
expecting
an
out-and-out
comical
thriller.
Instead,
the
movie
was
more
an
emotional
family
drama,
which
didn't
go
well
with
the
fans
of
Honey
Bee.
The
team
went
on
to
bring
some
changes
in
the
star
cast,
by
replacing
a
few
actors
who
played
the
major
roles
in
the
original
and
bringing
an
additional
star
cast,
including
Sreenivasan
and
Lena.
The
supporting
cast
of
Honey
Bee,
especially
the
actors
who
played
Seban's
friends,
were
totally
sidelined
in
the
sequel.
The
movie,
which
marked
the
third
outing
of
Jean
Paul
Lal,
is
produced
by
Lal
Creations.
