The results of Kerala State Film Awards 2016 are finally out. Vinayakan won the award for Best Actor, for his performance in Rajeev Ravi's Kammatipaadam. Rajisha Vijayan won the trophy for the Best Actress, for her performance in Anuraga Karikkin Vellam.

Best Actor: Vinayakan

Vinayakan won the Kerala State Film Award for the Best Actor, for his performance as Ganga in Rajeev Ravi's Kammatipaadam. Undoubtedly the most deserving award of the year.

Best Actress: Rajisha Vijayan

Rajisha Vijayan, the actress who essayed Eli aka Elizabeth in Anuraga Karikkin Vellam, won the award for Best Actress for her performance in the movie. The most surprising name in the winners list indeed.

Best Movie: Manhole

Vidhu Vincent's Manhole, which revolves around a section of people disowned by the society, won the award for the Best Movie of 2016.

Best Director: Vidhu Vincent

Journalist turned film-maker Vidhu Vincent won the award for the Best Director, for her debut directorial venture Manhole.

Best Popular Movie With Aesthetic Value: Maheshinte Prathikaaram

Maheshinte Prathikaaram, the Fahadh Faasil starrer directed by actor turned film-maker Dileesh Pothan won the award for the Best Popular Movie With Aesthetic Value, of 2016.

Best Character Actor: Manikandan Achari

Manikandan Achari, the newcomer who essayed the role of Balan in Rajeev Ravi's Kammatipaadam, won the State Award trophy for the Best Character Actor for his stunning performance in the movie.

Best Child Artist (Male): Chetanlal

Chetanlal, the super-talented young actor won the award for the Best Child Artist, for his exceptional performance as the titular character in Johnpaul George's Guppy.

Best Story: Salim Kumar

Salim Kumar, the National award-winning actor won the award for the Best Story, for the movie Karutha Joothan, which was also directed by himself.
