The wait for the results of the Kerala State Film Awards for the year 2016, will finally come to an end within a few hours.Reportedly, the names of the big winners will be out by 5 PM in the evening.
The Kerala State Film Awards is one of the most prestigious film awards of the State. Much like the previous years, there are also many speculations doing the rounds about the winners of various categories.
Reportedly, there are certain reports doing the rounds that Vinayakan is being considered for the title for the Best Actor award. In fact, the audiences are also eagerly awaiting to see this man win the title, who impressed one and all with his portrayal of Ganga in the film Kammatipaadam.
Names of actors like Mohanlal, Dulquer Salmaan, Fahadh Faasil, Salim Kumar etc., are also doing the rounds for the title. Well, we will get to know about the real winner after the results are officially out.

2015 - Dulquer Salmaan
It was Dulquer Salmaan who was adjudged the Best Actor for the year 2016. His performance in Charlie was much noted and he did impress the jury with his effortless portrayal of the character. Interestingly, he went on to beat the likes of Mammootty, Jayasurya, Indrans etc., who were also in the race for the title.
2014 – Nivin Pauly/Sudev Nair
The title for the Best Actor award were shared jointly by Nivin Pauly and Sudev Nair in the year 2015. While Nivin Pauly grabbed the award for his performances in Bangalore Days and 1983, Sudev Nair was selected for his portrayal of a character named Kiran. Reportedly, actors like Jayasurya and Mammootty were also in the final round for the title.
2013 – Fahadh Faasil/Lal
Young actor Fahadh Faasil, who impressed one and all with his portrayal of a blind artist in the Shyamaprasad movie Artist, was declared the Best Actor of the year 2013. Along with him, actor Lal, who portrayed the role of a gynaecologist in the movie Zachariyayude Garbhanikal, was also the joint winner of the title.
Quite a few eyebrows were raised for not considering Suraj Venjaramoodu for the title, who had earlier won the National Award for the Best Actor for his performance in the film Perariyathavar.
2012 – Prithviraj
Prithviraj had a wonderful 2012, with the actor in him getting powerful roles to portray. Rightly, in 2012, Prithviraj went on to win the Kerala State Film award for the Best Actor for his performances in the films, Ayalum Njaanum Thammil and Celluloid. In Ayaalum Njanum thammil, he played the role of a doctor whereas in Celluloid, he effectively portrayed the role of J C Daniel, the father of Malayalam cinema.
2011 - Dileep
Dileep went on to win the Best Actor award in the year 2011, for his performance in the movie Vellaripravinte Changathi, directed by Akku Akbar. Many felt that Mohanlal deserved the award more, for his performance in the film Pranayam.
