Mammootty, is one such lead Malayalam actor, who has donned the role of cop for a record number of times. Each time he has appeared as a police officer, he made it a point to bring in a difference.

Now, it seems like the actor is all set to do the role of a cop, yet again. If reports are to be believed, Mammootty will be seen as a police officer in Shamdat's debut directorial venture.

Reports also suggest that the debut directorial venture of Shamdat, will be in the lines of a suspense thriller. No official confirmation has been made regarding the same but the makers are expected to come up with an official announcement in the coming days.

Mammootty, was most recently seen in the role of a police officer in Nithin Renji Panicker's debut directorial venture Kasaba, in which he played a stylish cop named Rajan Zachariah. His fans thoroughly enjoyed his cop act and the movie ended up to be a profitable venture.
