Mammootty Turns Producer Again!

Mammootty, the megastar is all set to turn producer once again. As per the reports, Mammootty is turning producer once again for his upcoming movie Streetlights, directed by cinematographer turned director Shamdat.

According to the director, the actor immediately agreed to do the project when he approached him with the script. The movie will feature Mammootty in a unique role which is totally different from his recent roles.

Interestingly, the central role of was not originally written for Mammootty. But after completing the screenplay, the writer-director felt that the megastar will be the perfect choice to play the lead role in the movie.

However, the director refused to reveal further details regarding Mammootty's role in the movie. Shamdat also clarified that Streetlights is not a complete thriller, but a stylish entertainer.

The project will start rolling on May 24 at Kochi, and will be filmed in a single schedule at the various locations of Kochi, Kambam, Theni, Pollachi, Chennai, etc. Shamdat's brother Sadat handles the cinematography.

Mammootty last turned producer for the 2012-released movie Jawan Of Vellimala, directed by Anoop Kannan. He had also co-produced the 2014 movie Varsham along with director Ranjith Sankar, for his banner Playhouse Pictures.
