Mohanlal, might have faced a backlash with his recent release 1971 Beyond Borders not doing a good business at the box office but the star is sure to make up for it with his next biggie, Villain, which is scheduled for a release in the month of July 2017.
Now, the stage is set for a big contest but it won't be between the superstars of Mollywood. Interestingly, the month of July, would witness Mohanlal fighting it out with Kollywood superstar Dhanush at the Kerala box office as Dhanush's much awaited film VIP 2 will be hitting the theatres on the same date.

Earlier, it was announced that Mohanlal starrer Villain will be hitting the theatres on July 28, 2017. Recently, team VIP 2 officially confirmed that the film will be hitting the theatres on July 28, 2017.
Will VIP 2 Offer A Stiff Competuition To Villain?
Interestingly, Dhanush's Velai Illa Pattathari (VIP), the sequel to the upcoming film VIP 2 did do a decent business at the Kerala box office. VIP 2 is one of the most awaited movies of the actor, who has a good fan base in Kerala, as well. We have to wait and see whether the film will offer a stiff competition to Mohanlal's Villain or not.

Mohanlal's Villain carries huge amount of expectations along with same is the case of VIP 2, which has its sript written by Dhanush himself.
