Nivin Pauly's Sakhavu Gets A Release Date!

Sakhavu, the much-awaited Nivin Pauly starrer, has finally got a release date. The political drama which is directed by actor turned National award-winning director Sidhartha Siva, will hit the theatres on April 14th, Vishu day.

The movie, which will be the first release of Nivin Pauly in 2017, is one of the highly anticipated upcoming Malayalam projects of the year. Nivin will essay the central character Krishna Kumar, a communist follower in Sakhavu.

It is the first outing of Nivin and Sidhartha Siva as an actor-director duo. Sidhartha has earlier shared the screen with Nivin in the 2012-released movie Puthiya Theerangal, directed by senior film-maker Sathyan Anthikad.

Sakhavu, which is said to be an intense political drama, depicts the story of student leader Krishna Kumar and how his life changes after a medical college visit. Jomonte Suvisheshangal fame Aishwarya Rajesh essays the female lead.

The movie, which is scripted by director Sidhartha himself, also stars actor-writer Sreenivasan in a key role. Maniyanpilla Raju, Joju George, Aparna Gopinath, Gayathri Suresh, etc., appear in the supporting roles.

George C Williams, the Theri fame cinematographer is the director of photography. Prashant Pillai composes the songs and background score. Sakhavu is produced by B Rakesh, under the banner Universal Cinema.
