Aami,
which
is
the
next
film
of
veteran
director
Kamal,
is
one
of
the
most
awaited
upcoming
Malayalam
movies,
due
to
two
big
reasons.
Firstly,
it
is
the
biopic
of
Kamala
Das
and
secondly
the
film
marks
the
debut
of
Vidya
Balan
in
Mollywood
in
a
full-length
role.
In
the
past
few
days,
certain
rumours
were
rife
that
the
actress
has
backed
out
of
the
project,
since
the
actress
didn't
want
to
associate
with
Kamal,
who
had
ideological
differences
with
Vidya
Balan,
who
is
a
supporter
of
Narendra
Modi
and
BJP.
But
now,
close
associates
of
Vidya
Balan
have
put
the
rumours
to
rest.
According
to
a
report
by
Times
Of
India,
the
PR
of
the
actress
has
confirmed
that
she
is
still
a
part
of
the
project
and
the
actress
doesn't
have
a
political
affiliation.
Reportedly,
the
shoot
of
the
film
got
postponed
due
to
the
film
strike
that
came
in
to
effect
from
December
16,
2016
onwards.
The
film
is
expected
to
go
on
floors
once
all
the
issues
settle
down.
Aami
is
a
big
project
and
director
Kamal,
who
himself
has
scripted
the
film,
has
been
in
the
works
of
the
film,
since
the
past
3
years.
The
film
has
an
ensemble
star
cast
and
apart
from
Vidya
Balan,
the
film
also
features
actors
like
Prithviraj,
Anoop
Menon,
Murali
Gopi
etc.,
in
important
roles.
