The film, directed by Karan Johar marked his third association with Shahrukh Khan. Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna, dealt with a rather controversial topic, which was received with mixed reviews, back at that time.
But later, the film went on to receive a cult fan following and certain section of audiences even rated this movie, as one of the best of Karan Johar - Shahrukh Khan team.
