Irupatham Noottandu was remade into Kannada under the title Jackey in 1989, with Ambarish in the lead role. It was remade in Telugu as 20va Shatabdam, with Suman replacing Mohanlal as the lead actor.
The movie had a spin-off titled Sagar Alias Jacky Reloaded in 2009, with Mohanlal and Jagathy Sreekumar reprising their roles. But the Amal Neerad movie earned mixed reviews from the audiences and ended up as a moderate box office success.
