In

the
Kerala
High
Court
has
quashed
the
case
registered
against

actor
Unni
Mukundan,
who
was
accused
of
insulting
womanhood.
The
decision
to
quash
the
case
by
the
High
Court
was
prompted
by
the
complainant,
who
informed
the
court
that
a
settlement
had
been
reached
in
the
case.
Justice
P
Gopinath
issued
the
order
upon
noting
that
an
agreement
had
been
reached
between
the
actor
and
the
female
complainant.
Unni
Mukundan
had
been
on
trial,
accused
of
committing
the
offences
under
Sections
354
(outraging
the
modesty
of
a
woman)
and
354B
of
the
Indian
Penal
Code
(IPC),
in
front
of
a
Judicial
First-Class
Magistrate
Court.
The
allegation
involved
the
actor's
alleged
attempt
to
forcefully
kiss
and
sexually
assault
the
complainant,
an
Austrian
woman
with
Indian
roots,
during
a
meeting
in
2017
to
discuss
a
potential
movie
storyline.
However,
matters
took
a
different
turn
when
Unni
Mukundan
notified
the
court
that
he
had
reached
an
agreement
with
the
complainant
to
resolve
the
issue
amicably.
Subsequently,
the
High
Court
issued
an
interim
order
in
June,
putting
a
halt
to
further
proceedings
in
the
Ernakulam
Judicial
First
Class
Magistrate's
Court.
Additionally,
the
complainant
provided
an
affidavit
affirming
the
existence
of
an
agreement
to
settle
the
case.
The
High
Court's
decision
to
quash
the
case
against
Unni
Mukundan
marks
a
resolution
to
this
legal
dispute
following
the
settlement
between
the
actor
and
the
complainant.
