Superstar Rajinikanth gave a bumper blockbuster to the Kollywood industry with Nelson's Jailer. The movie which hit the screens on August 10, is continuing to reign the ticket-counters worldwide.

Jailer officially becomes the highest grosser ever in the history of Tamil films and achieved several remarkable records at the global box office. Jailer is Rajinikanth's best yet, and the expectations and target for his upcoming projects increased manifold. Rajinikanth let his guard down and played a beautiful role, which is undertone. He won immense applause for the role of Muthivel Pandian. The movie contains no trademark Thalaivar style mannerisms and hullabaloo but it became his career's biggest hit.

Jailer Story
The movie is the story of a retired Jailer Muthu, whose son, a strict ACP goes missing. Muthu who otherwise lives a peaceful life learns that his son was murdered. His entire family get death threats. Muthu then sets out for revenge. A flashback of Muthu unravels, and there is a twist. What happens next, is to be seen on the big screen.

Jailer Worldwide Box Office

Made on a budget of about Rs 240 Crore, the movie so far collected about Rs 596 Crore worldwide. Jailer is continuing to run successfully at the box office worldwide.

Jailer Becomes Highest-Grosser (South) In GCC

Rajinikanth's movie officially became the highest-grosser film in the GCC area (Gulf) all of the United Arab Emirates. Jailer beats star-studded pan-India blockbusters like Baahubali 2, KGF Chapter 2, RRR and other Malayalam Films.

Jailer movie stars superstar Rajinikanth, Vinayakan, Ramya Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi, Tamannaah, Yogi Babu, Mirnaa Menon, Naga Babu, Kishore, Redin Kingsley, Saravanan, SunilReddy, Aranthangi Nisha, Uday Mahesh, G Marimuthhu, and Mahanadi Shankar, among others in key roles. In addition, the movie features Mohanlal, Jackie Shroff, and Shiva Rajkumar in cameos.

Kalanithi Maran under the Sun Pictures banner produced the movie. The budget was Rs 200 Crore. Vijay Kartik Kannan cranked the camera, and Anirudh Ravichander composed outstanding background score and music. R Nirmal worked as the editor of Jailer.
