<i>Photographer</i> - Preview

Photographer is a film which is based on the real time incident of a normal man who experiences the happiest and most tragic parts of life. In this movie, Mohanlal plays the role of a photographer who loves to be out in the fresh and open unpolluted and natural places of nature. So, he has peacefully settled with his loving wife and son near the tribal region of Wayanad in Kerala.

Mohanlal plays the role of Dijo John and the Kannada actress Nithashree appears as his wife, Sathyavathi. It is the first film for Nithashree in a Malayalam movie. The director's son Sowgandh plays the role of Saran, son of Dijo John. This couple faces a lot of troubles from society because of Dijo John being a Christian and Sathyavathi, a Brahmin.

The script of the movie is based on a true Muthanga incident. A few years ago, an innocent tribal was shot dead in police firing. To the bad luck of all, the press people were forced to leave the place due to the outbreak of violence. At this juncture, Dijo happens to be present there on an assignment for an international company. He is the only outsider left among the agitated tribal group. So, he decides to use his camera to explain to the world the actual situation in Wayanad.

The director has kept secret about the role of a farmer, as Mohanlal is to appear in the dual roles of a photographer and a farmer. The crew includes Biju Menon, Manoj K. Jayan, Mamukoya, Murali and Venu Nagavally. Good technicians have joined hands in this movie. Azhagappan as cameraman, Premachandran as art director and Jyothy as editor. After a long gap, Johnson has composed the music for Photographer. Photographer is growing steadily with production by Howly Pottur and under the banner Dream Team Productions. The shooting is in progress in the evergreen Wayanad and parts of Calicut.

The director's touch can be expected from Ranjan Pramod, though being a debutant director but an experienced script-writer. It's going to be the most expected film for Ramzan, since Ranjan is famous for being different in writing his movies. It is expected that his direction will also go in a different, less-travelled direction.
