Chattambinaadu- Review

The year 2009 was a lucky year for Mammootty. After a long awaiting he was successful in making a come back as a superstar for the year. He has the most number of hits credited for the year. Among all we all remember him as Pazhassi Raja! His last film for the year was Chattambinaadu, that got released on 25th.

Chattambinaadu, in one word is a comedy entertainer. Mammootty plays the role of a goonda in the film. The story takes place ia a small village called Chattambinaadu, originally called Chembattunaadu. The rivalry between two wealthy families brought goondas to the village and gradually got the name as Chattambinaadu.

Vijendra Mallaya ( Mammootty) buys a property of Mallanchira Chandramohan ( Manoj K Jayan) and comes to Chattambinaadu for it. Vijendra speaks Malayalam with a Kannada accent in it. Kattappilly Nagendran ( Siddique), rival to Chandramohan creates trouble to Vijendra Mallaya. How Mallaya handles the situations with his less Malayalam knowledge is the crux of the story. The movie can be categorized as a mass entertainer. There is one main reason too for Mallaya to come to Chattambinaadu. That is also a main twist in disguise.

As always Mammootty appear extremely handsome in the movie. He looks good with his trimmed beard and the red thilak on his forehead. With his costume of white kurta-pyjama, black sun glass and white shoes, he looks awesome. After Rajamaanikyam, Mammootty is to get popular with his slang of Kannada accent in Malayalam in the movie and is sure to make a hit among the audience.

Another role is played by the upcoming star Vinu Mohan. He plays a brotherly character to Mammootty. He is sure to make a remark through this film. There are two heroines in the film. Lakshmi Rai and Paleri Maanickyam fame Mythily has done their roles well.

Siddique has already proven to be a good villain and has been successful again. The fight between Siddique and Mammootty is the runway. Suraj and Salim Kumar has added their contribution in no new way. Vijayaraghavan, Manoj K Jayan, Siddhique, Janardhanan and others are also in the cast.

The movie is a similar comedy masala similar to all films of the director Shafi. Alex Paul has scored the music. Manoj Pillai has rolled the camera, and is commendable. With a humorous background the movie has set forth its journey. The movie will be a good entertainer. For sure the movie will make you enjoy and relax!
