If
you
are
an
ardent
fan
of
Mammootty-Suresh
Gopi's
action
flicks,
The
King
and
The
Commissioner
will
suit
you
well.
The
film
is
written
by
Renji
Panicker
and
directed
by
Shaji
Kailas.
Mammootty
and
Suresh
Gopi
are
two
of
the
most
loved
and
popular
action
heroes
of
all
times.
Hence,
the
coming
together
of
the
super
heroes
in
The
King
and
The
Commissioner
was
being
awaited
by
the
fans
of
both
Mammootty
and
Suresh
Gopi.
The
dialogues
written
by
Renji
are
too
long
and
never
ending.
Moreover,
they
were
heavily
worded
and
combined
with
loads
of
fist
punch.
As
is
always
the
case
with
a
Mamootty-Suresh
Gopi
flick,
the
film
is
layered
with
innumerable
English
one-liners.
The
King
and
Commissioner
undoubtedly
looked
very
unreal.
Well,
to
give
the
director
some
credit,
we
must
say
that
few
of
the
dialogues
mouthed
by
the
superstars
were
indeed
very
catchy
and
interesting.
The
King
and
The
Commissioner
is
a
3
hour
15
minutes
ordeal
and
in
no
manner
keeps
your
interest
intact!
The
film
also
takes
a
dig
at
the
media
who
resort
to
cheap
tricks
to
make
news
out
of
nothing.
Story
Joseph
Alex
IAS,
played
by
Mammootty
is
a
high
ranking
official
who
is
asked
to
investigate
into
the
murder
of
few
of
the
country’s
intelligence
experts.
Bharath
Chandran
IPS
(Suresh
Gopi)
assists
him
as
deputy.
The
criminals
behind
the
murder
include
a
high-fi
Pakistani
officer
and
a
swami
named
Chandramouliswara
(Sai
Kumar).
They
along
with
a
bureaucrat
named
Raman
Madhav
(Jayan
Cherthala)
and
a
police
officer
named
Shankar
IPS
(Devan)
are
all
eager
to
dupe
the
nation.
Performances
As
Mammootty
is
a
bigger
actor
than
Suresh
Gopi
in
the
Malayalam
film
industry,
he
gets
to
mouth
the
maximum
number
of
hard
hitting
dialogues.
However,
Suresh
Gopi
makes
sure
that
he
is
noticed
and
has
given
his
best.
Sai
Kumar
looks
good
as
a
villain.
All
other
actors
have
given
a
decent
performance.
Overall,
The
King
and
The
Commissioner
does
not
deliver
as
promised.
