This is Salim Ahamed's second movie. The director has been successful in implementing his story in a very interesting manner. He has used the potential of the actor very well.
This movie will be a relief to the actor after the failure of his last flick Kadal Kadannu Oru Mathukutty. Mammootty has done full justice to his character.
Nyla Usha has been successful in enacting her role very well. This is her debut movie in the industry. She is an RJ by profession.

Salim Kumar plays the role of the Government officer in this film. Some very interesting moments occur in the film, after Salim's entry. He has done complete justice to his role.
All the cast including the supporting roles have done complete justice to their roles. None is found dominating the other character in this film.
Cinematography, sound mixing and dialogue delivery - all are outstanding. This is the first Malayalam film in which Resul Pookutty has done synchronised sound recording or sync sound.
Mammootty and Nyla Usha have shared a good onscreen chemistry throughout the film. Mollywood thus gets another new pair in the industry. The movie has good songs which sync with the mood of the film. All have done complete justice to the film.
The movie seems to be dragging at some point of time (especially in the second half). Also, a little importance could have been given to the heroine.
A must watch movie. Kunjananthante Kada is a good treat for all Mammootty fans. Salim Ahamed has once again proved his calibre.
