Apothecary Movie Review

Cast and Performance

Suresh Gopi and Jayasurya completely steal the show. Suresh Gopi rocked the screen with his character Dr. Vijay Nambiar; especially in the climax scenes. He once again proves that he is one of the most talented actors of Malayalam cinema. Jayasurya has delivered his best performance till date and looks fantastic in his role. Asif Ali also makes a mark with his decent and controlled acting.

Abhirami shines as Dr. Nalini Nambiar, while Meera Nandan looks fine in the role of Daisy. It is Indrans who completely surprises the audience in the role of Jayasurya's father. The actor proves that he can play serious roles as well. Rest of the cast, including Thampy Antony, Kavitha Nair, Seema G Nair, Arun, Neeraj Madhav, Jayaraj Warrier and Jayan Cherthala also did complete justice to their roles.

Script and Direction

Script by Madhav Ramadasan and Hemath Kumar is tightly packed and engaging. The movie manages to keep a rhythm from the beginning to the end, but lags at times.

Director Madhav Ramadasan has managed to bring the best out of his actors.

Technical Aspects

The cinematography by Hari Nair is good and creates an atmosphere for a serious plot. The editing by K Srinivas is not up to expectations as the movie lags at times.

Songs and Background Score

Sheikh Ellahi is the music director of the movie. The only song in the movie is not up to standards; but the background score completely sinks into the plot and makes the movie even more haunting.

Verdict

This is a perfect emotional thriller recommended for those audiences who love to watch meaningful movies.
