Rating:
2.5/5
Sugeeth's
latest
movie
Onnum
Mindathe
starring
Jayaram
and
Meera
Jasmine
in
the
lead
is
a
clean
family
story
stuffed
with
a
lot
of
cliche
elements
we
have
seen
many
times
in
big
screen.
Though
the
movie
is
enjoyable
throughout
the
first
half,
the
later
half
drags
well
to
end
up
the
movie
as
an
average
one.
Story
The
story
of
Onnum
Mindathe
is
based
on
the
life
of
a
married
couple,
Sachi
(Jayaram),
an
agricultural
officer,
and
Shyama
(Meera
Jasmine)
who
is
a
tuition
teacher.
The
duo
is
having
a
happy
life
with
their
sole
daughter
Shivani
(Baby
Anikha).
Things
go
all
well
till
the
entry
of
Jose
(Manoj
K
Jayan)
in
their
happy
life.
Jose,
an
NRI,
is
the
childhood
friend
of
Sachi,
and
has
a
weakness
for
beautiful
women.
On
the
course,
Jose
introduces
Clara
(Sarayu)
to
Sachi
and
pursuades
him
to
have
a
visit
to
Clara's
house.
The
later
part
of
the
movie
deals
with
the
problems
occurring
in
Sachi's
family
by
his
relation
with
Clara
and
how
Sachi
manages
to
sort
it
out.
Performances
Jayaram,
with
his
excellent
level
of
humour
and
sentiments,
have
executed
the
role
of
Sachi
real
well.
The
role
of
Shyama
is
safe
with
Meera
Jasmine.
The
actress
is
capable
of
winning
hearts
with
her
controlled
performance.
Manoj
K
Jayan
have
done
justice
to
the
character
as
Jose.
Baby
Anikha
is
cute
and
adorable.
Other
characters
including
Lalu
Alex
(Achuthaandan),
Devi
Ajith,
Sarayu,
Dharmajan
Bolgetti
are
good
with
their
respective
roles.
Technical
Aspects
On
the
technical
side,
the
best
part
for
the
movie
will
be
Faizal
Ali's
cinematography.
Frames
by
this
talented
cinematographer
is
rich
and
splendid.
On
the
musical
side,
everything
stays
on
an
average
to
above
average
level,
be
it
the
songs
or
the
BGM.
Anil
Johnson
could
have
done
better
which
could
have
made
a
real
impact
on
the
audience.
The
story
of
Onnum
Mindathe
is
inspired
from
the
1982
movie
Aalolam.
Dialogues
penned
by
Rajesh
Raghavan
strictly
adheres
to
the
mood
of
this
family
story.
Director
could
have
a
lot
bettered
the
movie.
The
dragging
second
half
portions
could
have
been
trimmed.
Verdict
On
the
whole,
Onnum
Mindathe
stays
as
a
one
time
watchable
family
movie
with
a
bunch
of
flaws.
