Loham Cast

Mohanlal delivers a kick-ass performance as taxi driver Raju. The actor effortlessly plays the character, which has several shades. His transformation from the simple exuberant Raju to the mass hero was completely mesmerizing.

Andrea Jeremiah, who plays Jayanthi, has nothing much to do in her minimal role. The actress fails to maintain a chemistry with Mohanlal; but surely saves the character from falling apart with her matured screen presence.

Siddique has stolen the show with his exceptional comic timing. The rest of the cast, including Vijayaraghavan, Ranji Panicker, Sadiq, Irshad, Suresh Krishna, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Mustafa, Krishna, Ajmal Ameer, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Abu Salem, Joju George, KPAC Lalitha, Mythili, Thesni Khan, Gauri Nanda etc are perfect in their respective roles.

Script & Direction

Ranjith, who doubles as the writer and director of the movie, manages to execute the first half pretty well. It is completely engaging with the light-hearted comical situations. The interval sequence is also delivered well.

But things go out of the hands in the second half, which looks dull and extremely predictable, with a disappointing climax. Ranjith's craft as a filmmaker is visible throughout the movie. But what Loham lacks is, his brilliance as a writer.

Technical Aspects

Kunjunni S Kumar, the son of popular cinematographer S Kumar, handles the cinematography. The visualization part is above average; but there is nothing extraordinary about the cinematography. Manoj Kannoth's editing is just average.

Songs & Background Score

Songs are composed by popular musician Sreevalsan J Menon. In the three songs, only the song Mylanchi manages to impress the audience.

Veteran composer Rajamani composes the background score for the movie. The background score is not much impressive and completely fails to make a mark at certain important sequences of the movie.

Verdict

A one-time watch which doesn't fit into the category of neither mass nor class.
