Monsoon
Mangoes
is
a
feel-good
entertainer
which
stars
Fahadh
Faasil
in
the
central
character.
The
movie
is
written
and
directed
by
Abi
Varghese
and
produced
by
Thampy
Anthony
under
the
banner
Kayal
Films.
Monsoon
Mangoes
Story
Daveed
aka
DP
Pallickal
(Fahadh
Faasil)
is
an
aspiring
film-maker
in
his
early
thirties.
He
is
an
unsuccessful
man,
who
tries
hard
to
find
a
producer
for
his
dream
movie.
He
finds
a
not-so-popular
Bollywood
actor
named
Premkumar
(Vijay
Raaz),
to
portray
the
central
character
in
his
movie.
DP's
struggles
to
complete
his
dream
project
form
the
rest
of
the
plot.
Cast
And
Performance
Fahadh
Faasil
delivers
an
extraordinary
performance
as
DP
Pallickal.
He
reminds
that
he
is
still
the
best
actor
of
the
youngsters'
league,
with
his
exceptional
acting
skills.
Vijay
Raaz
deserves
a
special
applause
for
his
performance.
Leading
lady
Iswarya
Menon
has
nothing
much
to
do
in
her
minimal
role.
The
rest
of
the
actors,
including
Vinay
Forrt,
Tovino
Thomas,
Sanju
Sivaram,
Thampy
Anthony
etc
play
their
parts
well.
Script
And
Direction
Director
Abi
Varghese
has
succeeded
in
portraying
the
lives
of
US-based
Malayalis
to
near
perfection.
But
the
script,
which
is
written
by
the
director
himself,
along
with
Naveen
Bhaskar
&
Matt
Grubb,
lacks
strength.
The
movie
travels
through
a
slow
pace
and
tests
your
patience
at
certain
points.
This
prevents
Monsoon
Mangoes
from
being
an
audience-friendly
movie.
Technical
Aspects
Lukasz
Pruchnik's
breathtaking
visuals
make
the
movie
a
visual
treat.
It
is
undoubtedly
the
first
Malayalam
movie
to
feature
US
in
the
silver
screen,
in
its
full
glory.
Donmax's
editing
is
not
effective,
as
the
movie
disappoints
with
its
slow
pace.
Music
Songs
and
background
score,
composed
by
Jakes
Bijoy
is
fresh,
rhythmic
and
completely
sinks
in
with
the
mood
of
the
movie.
Verdict
An
inspiring,
feel-good
movie
experience
for
the
film
lovers.
