Read on to know how the cast & crew members of Swarna Kaduva have fared for the movie..
Biju Menon As Rini Iype Maattummel
Biju Menon plays the lead character Rini Iype Maattummel. As usual, Biju Menon has given an impressive performance and is the soul of the movie. He will make you laugh with his witty one-liners and at the same time has added some mannerisms to effectively portray the negative shades of the character.
Innocent As Lonappan
Swarna Kaduva, can be termed as a comeback of sorts for Innocent. It has been quite some time since we saw Innocent in a fully fledged role. In Swarna Kaduva, he is seen as Lonappan, Rini's boss. He is at his comfortable terrain and pulls off the role with ease.
Poojitha As Deepthi And Iniya As Lovely
The film has two leading ladies in the form of Poojith and Ineya. Poojitha plays Deepthi, a girl from a poor family whereas Iniya appears as Lovely. Both the actresses have got roles of equal importance and they have come out with good performances in the film.
Rest Of The Cast
Swarna Kaduva also features actors like Suresh Krishna, Sudheer Karamana, Baiju, Chinnu Kuruvila, Nazeer Sankranthi etc., in important roles. Special mention to Hareesh Perumanna, who is at his comic best.
Director - Jos Thomaas
Jos Thomaas is well-known for his entertainers and with Swarna Kaduva, he is back to his forte. Upto some extent, the director has succeeded in packaging the product neatly, without many glitches, especially in the first half. But, the director loses the control somewhere in the second half, affecting the overall flow of the movie.
Writer - Babu Janardhanan
Babu Janardhanan has tried to weave out the story of a selfish giant, who is a representative of today's youth. The characterisation of the hero is something fresh to Malayalam cinema. But, the screenplay lacks that potential to make it a cut above the rest.
Music - Ratheesh Vega
Songs do hold less importance in films of this genre. Having said that, Ratheesh Vega, has set the tunes for two songs of the film, and has done a decent job.
Background Music - Gopi Sunder
His dexterity in providing some brilliant scores for films is well-known. In Swarna Kaduva, his work isn't mighty impressive, but still he keeps the flow of the movie intact, with decent scores.
Experienced cinematographer Manoj Pillai has handled the cinematography department of the film. His work for the film stands average. Editing of the film has been done by Johnkutty, who could kept the run-time in check.
Swarna Kaduva has the elements to entertain you at parts. The film starts off as a comedy with some twists and turns but later, shifts the gear.
The positive of Swarna Kaduva is in the fact that it has a story to tell and doesn't bank on feel-good and comic elements alone. The story and the events will keep you engaged. The movie has many satirical moments, of which some score high while the others fall flat.
Things get a bit complicated in the second half. Too many things happen without giving much clarity to the audiences, which in turn has affected the overall viewing experience of the film.
The character sketch of the hero is a kind of a revelation in Malayalm cinema. Kudos to the team for staying away from the usual cliches, associated with films which have characters with negative shades in the lead roles. And the movie depends heavily on the impeccable performance of Biju Menon.
Swarna Kaduva is a watchable movie, with glitches here and there. Nonetheless, you can buy the tickets to watch Biju Menon in full-form.
