Script – Nishad Koya

Nishad Koya has followed the same pattern as that of his film Ordinary. Thoppil Joppan doesn't have a big or different story to narrate, but the sequences are good enough with some light comedies laced throughout in the script.

Music Director – Vidyasagar

The film has the songs set to tune by Vidyasagar. Songs of the film have already entered the list of chartbusters. The title song of the film has garnered the attention of the audiences. The song Onbathilage.., with its beats and lyrics, lightens up the movie.

Other Technical Aspects

Cinematography of the film has been handled by youngster Sunoj Velayudhan. He has done a decent job and has set some good frames to capture the beauty of Idukki. Editing has been done by veteran Ranjan Abraham. His experience has come in to play but there are some lagging portions, which could have been chopped off.

Overall View

As mentioned, Thoppil Joppan doesn't have a strong story to narrate. But, the writer and the director have tried their best to make a neat entertainer from the available prospects. The love track in the film works pretty well and you won't get bored at any point of time.

Fans of Mammootty would be expecting some mass scenes and there are two or three sequences, which has a mass background. Apart from that, the film is an entertainer with a realistic touch and won't question the logic of the viewers.

Verdict

A simple, neat and clean entertainer with Mammootty in full form. The film doesn't have any big surprises but it will keep you entertained throughout.
