Synopsis
The
story
of
Aby
revolves
around
a
young
guy
with
the
same
name,
who
nurtures
a
big
dream.
He
dreams
to
fly
just
like
the
birds
and
his
big
aim
in
life
is
to
make
an
aeroplane
on
his
own,
one
day.
But,
Aby's
crazy
dream
doesn't
have
much
takers
and
certain
situations
push
him
out
of
his
native
place.
Will
Aby
accomplish
his
dream
or
not
forms
the
rest
of
the
story.

cast
and
crew
members
of
Aby
have
fared
in
the
movie..
Director
–
Srikant
Murali
It
is
a
decent
debut
for
Srikant
Murali,
the
director.
The
director
comes
out
successful
in
delivering
a
decent
film
without
adding
many
dramatic
elements.
He
has
remained
in
the
safe
zone,
following
the
template
of
inspirational
movies
and
hence,
the
room
for
innovation
was
lesser.
On
the
flip
side,
the
placement
of
songs
looked
irritating.
Writer
–
Santhosh
Echikkanam
For
sure,
Aby
is
not
the
best
work
of
Santhosh
Echikkanam.
One
would
get
the
feel
like
he
could
have
concentrated
a
bit
more
on
the
development
of
each
characters.
But
still,
there
are
certain
areas
where
the
writer
in
him
wins
giving
the
necessary
materials
to
the
director
to
work
on.
Vineeth
Sreenivasan
As
Aby
Vineeth
Sreenivasan
appears
as
the
title
character
Aby.
It
was
a
pretty
decent
performance
from
the
actor.
He
has
pulled
off
the
different
stages
of
Aby's
life
successfully.
There
were
certain
sequences
in
which
he
was
trying
too
much
but
overall,
he
has
done
justice
to
the
character
of
Aby.
Aju
Varghese
As
Kunjoottan
Aju
Varghese
plays
Kunjoottan,
one
of
the
classmates
of
Aby.
Well,
the
actor
has
mastered
in
doing
such
kind
of
roles
and
he
has
kept
the
entertainment
quotient
intact,
with
his
portrayal
of
Kunjoottan.
Mareena
Michael
As
Anumol
Xavier
Mareena
Michael
who
was
previously
seen
in
Happy
Wedding
plays
the
childhood
friend
of
Aby,
in
this
film.
The
character
of
Anumol
isn't
like
the
stereotyped
leading
ladies
in
films
and
Mareena
has
done
her
part,
pretty
well.
She
is
definitely
a
good
prospect.
Suraj
Venjaramoodu
As
Xavier
Suraj
Venjaramoodu
appears
as
Xavier,
father
of
Anumol,
in
Aby.
It
was
a
rather
matured
performance
from
this
actor.
There
aren't
any
forced
comedies
for
the
actor
in
the
film
and
we
get
to
see
him
deliver
some
quality
comedies
in
Aby.
Rest
Of
The
Cast
Apart
from
the
above
mentioned
actors,
the
film
also
features
Sudheer
Karamana,
Hareesh
Peradi,
Dileesh
Pothan
etc.,
in
important
roles.
Sudheer
Karamana
did
go
overboard
at
times.
Dileesh
Pothan
as
the
police
officer
was
impressive.
Bollywood
actor
Mahish
Chaudhary
delivered
what
was
expected
from
him.
Other
Technicalities
The
music
department
of
the
movie
has
been
handled
by
Bijibal
and
Jaison
J
Nair.
The
songs
were
strictly
average.
BGM
by
Anil
Johnson
was
good.
Cinematography
by
Sudheer
Surendran
requires
special
mention
as
he
has
set
some
brilliant
frames
capturing
the
beauty
of
Idukki.
E
S
Suraj
has
done
a
decent
job
behind
the
editing
table.
Overall
View
Well,
the
film
has
followed
the
same
route
of
most
of
the
motivational
movies.
Hence,
the
film
has
its
own
share
of
cliched
elements,
be
it
in
the
development
of
the
characters
or
story
progression.
But,
on
the
plus
side,
the
film
does
succeed
in
providing
that
motivational
element
in
the
right
dosage.
We
get
to
feel
for
the
character
of
Aby
and
his
dreams
in
the
due
course
of
the
film's
journey.
The
film
also
has
the
entertaining
elements
to
keep
you
engaged.
The
humour
portions
in
the
first
half
of
the
movie
has
struck
the
right
chords
with
the
audiences.
There
are
some
logical
issues
in
the
film,
but
that
doesn't
affect
the
overall
quality
of
the
film.
Verdict
Aby
is
a
decent
watch.
It
doesn't
boast
of
being
something
different
but
it
has
the
capability
to
take
you
through
the
inspiring
journey
of
Aby
towards
his
big
dream
without
leaving
you
bored.
