Sridevi's
comeback
movie
English
Vinglish
opened
to
a
very
poor
response,
but
it
has
picked
up
well
soon.
Despite
having
a
tough
competition
from
OMG
Oh
My
God
and
Barfi,
the
film
has
done
a
wonderful
collection
at
the
Indian
Box
Office
in
the
first
weekend.
It
has
beaten
another
new
release
Kismet
Love
Paisa
Dilli,
which
has
almost
bombed
at
the
domestic
collection
centres.
English
Vinglish
received
a
below
average
response
with
its
occupancy
ranging
between
15%
and
20%
in
the
morning
and
matinee
shows
on
Friday.
But
the
movie
showed
improvement
in
its
business
in
the
evening
shows.
It
collected
Rs
2.5
crores
nett
at
the
domestic
Box
Office
on
the
first
day
of
its
release.
English
Vinglish
garnered
positive
reviews
from
film
critics
and
a
good
word
of
mouth
spread
within
no
time.
The
Gauri
Shinde
directed
film
showed
a
big
jump
and
its
collection
was
almost
doubled
up
on
Saturday.
Its
business
further
improved
on
Sunday.
The
breakup
of
its
weekend
collection
is
Rs
2.5
cr
on
Fri,
Rs
4.75
cr
on
Sat
and
Rs
5.25
cr
on
Sun.
However,
with
its
collection
Rs
12.5
crores,
English
Vinglish
has
topped
the
collection
chart
at
the
desi
Box
Office,
while
OMG
Oh
My
God
land
in
the
second
spot
with
its
second
weekend
collection
reaching
Rs
12
crores.
Will
Sridevi's
latest
movie
surpass
Rs
20
crore
mark
at
the
Box
Office
in
the
first
week?
