Atul Kale directed, Balkadu is based on the ideologies of late Indian politician Bal Thackeray, the film contains voice clippings of Thackeray's political career. With a film aimed to pay a tribute to political legend Balasaheb Thackeray, the film stars Umesh Kamat, Neha Pendse and Prasad Oak on lead roles along with Supriya Pathare, Tiku Talsania, Pushkar Shrotri, Anand Ingale in supporting roles.
