Vijay
Acharekar,
both
hailing
from
Mumbai,
have
been
selected
for
this
year's
Chandrakant
Mandre
Art
Academy
Awards.Academy
Director
Shashikala
Mandre
and
jointly
said
in
a
conference
that
the
awards
given
every
year
since
1997
in
a
memory
of
veteran
film
actor
late
Chandrakant
Mandre
is
to
encourage
personalities
from
film,
drama
and
art.
Actor
Nalawade
and
artist
Acharekar
will
be
felicitated
with
awards
by
renowned
actor
of
Hindi
and
Marathi
films
Nana
Patekar,
at
a
function
to
be
held
here
on
March
10,
Ms
Mandre
said.Actor
Nalawade
came
into
focus
for
his
role
played
in
a
Oscar
nominated
Marathi
film
'Swas'
which
had
bagged
31
awards,
including
national
and
state
levels.
Mr Acharekar, a young artist, so far has bagged 10 awards, which includes both state and national levels for his paintings. He was also feliciated with award of the Art Society of India in the years 1990, 1991, 1994 and 1995, Dr Pawar added.
