'Dharm',
directed
by
Bhavna
Talwar,
India's
entry
to
the
prestigious
Cannes
Film
Festival
2007
was
launched
at
Planet
M.
This
is
the
first
time
that
a
debut
film
of
a
woman
director
is
being
showcased
at
Cannes.
The
original
Soundtrack
(OST)
of
'Dharm',
composed
by
Debajyoti
Mishra
captures
the
essence
of
the
protaganist
-
Pandit
Ram
Narayan
Chaturvedi,
a
Brahmin
priest's
-
journey
towards
reaffirmation
of
his
faith
and
beliefs.
The
music
is
a
blend
of
both
classical
music
with
haunting
vedic
chants,
and
modern
contemporary
style.
Before
her
directorial
debut,
Bhavna
Talwar
had
worked
for
The
Asian
Age,
and
ad-filmmaker
Johnny
Pinto.
She
believes
in
making
meaningful
films
that
convey
a
message
and
prefers
'critical
acclaim'
to
commercial
success.
